Chu Cho Industries LP (CCI) is a heavy construction and services contractor working with resource industry companies, primarily within the Tsay Keh Dene traditional territory. CCI specializes in timber harvesting, road construction and maintenance, and water or land-based transportation services. CCI is a First Nations-owned company dedicated to providing employment and economic opportunity to Tsay Keh Dene Nation (TKD) members.
Recent investments include a modern 10,000 sq. ft shop and office complex on a 10-acre serviced lot in Mackenzie, BC, ensuring our capacity to effectively support clients’ medium to large projects located anywhere in the territory. In addition to our new shop and office complex, we have another Mackenzie-based property, an 1800 sq. ft shop on a 5-acre lot. We also maintain a laydown yard and office in the village of Tsay Keh Dene and our management and administrative office in Prince George.
CCI was founded in 2009 as part of the Tsay Keh Dene Economic Development plan. We are a business that is overseen by an Economic Development Board who then reports to the Elected Chief and Council. The economic development plan was created to sustainably manage the resources of the Tsay Key Dene traditional territory while providing opportunities for the Nation members. As a business we work to be profitable while staying true to the values of the nation. Our business focus is on our natural resources which are construction, transportation, timber harvesting and other related services.
Another focus of Chu Cho Industries is to provide employment to TKD Nation members wherever possible. We currently employ a seasonal average of 60 full-time employees with around 30% of these being TKD Nation members. We provide, or connect, our membership with the proper training they need to do a quality job and develop the skills they need for long-term careers.
