Tse Keh Nay Tour
This month the CCI team had the opportunity to represent Tsay Keh Dene in the tour happening up at Golden Horseshoe around Black Lake. In this area the Tse Keh Nay Alliance is working to represent three Nations: Takla, Kwadacha, and Tsay Keh Dene. The collaboration is among their Economic Development companies. On this tour Chu Cho Industries, Sasuchan and KNRA were present.
The main work being done is mining exploration. This started in the Spring, around the beginning of June, and will keep on running until the snow falls. This trip was important to make sure our people are being properly employed, that the right environmental precautions are in place and that everyone stays safe. To support this project, Chu Cho Industries is offering First Aid services, expediting services, diverse health and safety related services, heavy equipment operations to back up the work, cooking and cleaning to support the crew, and general laborers.
Tse Keh Nay Alliance Background
To give more context to the Tse Keh Nay Alliance project, it was developed for the Kemess mine, to protest the use of 'Əmaze (Amazay) Lake as a tailings storage facility, which damaged the land and wildlife. Because of the project's location, the group is conformed of three Nations: Takla, Kwadacha, and Tsay Keh Dene. After winning the Kemess fight over the use of the lake, all three partners decided to continue the Alliance given that all three Nations had stakes in the shared area of land. Thanks to this, all the projects in that area are going to the Alliance, which will help further develop Chu Cho Industries' capabilities and reach, all while developing strong partnerships with the other Nations' development corporations.
